Understanding NatHERS ratings and certificates

What is a NatHERS star rating?

A NatHERS rating measures your home’s energy efficiency based on its thermal assessment and heating and cooling loads. It’s essential for compliance, comfort, and energy efficiency ratings. Higher ratings, like a 7-star house energy rating, mean lower energy costs and a reduced environmental impact.

The highest possible rating is 10 stars. Starting at 7 stars is just the beginning; our solutions go further to help create high-performing homes.

The minimum required energy ratings are changing around Australia. The new National Construction Code (NCC 2022) requires new houses to reach 7 stars energy efficiency. Each state will adopt this change at different times – read our summary of NCC 2022 adoption dates.
