Section J covers the energy efficiency requirements for all non-residential buildings. It covers a building’s thermal performance, lighting, hot water and heating, cooling and ventilation recovery (HVAC). 

At Powerhaus we generally use the JV3 method of compliance, which is a verification pathway using a reference building. Using this method allows for design flexibility and can reduce your building cost.

We recommend using a JV3 report to allow for flexibility in design and reduction of your building costs as your building is compared to a DtS (Deemed to Satisfy) reference, taking location of the proposed building and weather data into consideration, to show it meets environmental targets
